About The Position

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission: As a Y Head Start Family Home Visitor, you will provide child development services, social services, health services, parent support and parent involvement services to families including home visits, socializations, advocacy and crisis intervention in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Y of Central Maryland Child Care Philosophy and local licensing regulations. You will implement a family centered approach to assist families to build on their strengths and develop family partnership agreements to support families in identifying their concerns, priorities, and resources. You will provide resources on child development, parenting education and family support on home visits to families of infants/toddlers and pregnant women. You will conduct developmental screenings and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers to determine motor, language, social, cognitive and emotional skills and will develops an individual learning plan for each child with parental assistance. As a Y Head Start Family Home Visitor, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by working with our littlest participants and their families who are economically disadvantaged and help them prepare for success in school and life.
