About The Position

The position involves overseeing the 1st grade – 3rd grade ministry at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. The mission is to create environments where young students can learn about God, partner with parents, and equip volunteers to effectively teach and serve preschoolers. The role includes responsibilities such as recruiting and training volunteers, creating engaging curriculum, preparing resources for weekend services, and hosting events for children.

Requirements

• A pastoral heart with a growing and contagious relationship with Jesus.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with kids.
• At least 2 years’ experience leading others.
• Understanding of the developmental needs of elementary kids.
• Team-minded with a learner attitude, willing to try new things.
• Experience in training others and/or in volunteer management.
• Ability to receive and provide feedback in helpful and loving ways.
• Ability to view Children’s environments from multiple perspectives.
• Proactive and able to take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the 1st grade – 3rd grade ministry at Canyon Ridge Christian Church.
• Recruit, train, onboard, and empower volunteers to help execute the program for 1st-3rd graders.
• Partner with the Kids Director to assist parents in their roles as primary disciple makers.
• Create/edit exciting, age-appropriate, Bible-focused curriculum.
• Prepare all equipment, curriculum, and resources for weekend services in Early Elementary environments.
• Host at least 2 events a year that engage 1st – 3rd graders.
• Create quarterly trainings for all Early Elementary volunteers.
• Teach/host a monthly baptism class for kids and their parents.
• Create visually exciting, safe environments for children and parents.
• Participate with the full Kids Team to execute all Kids events.
• Stay energetic and understand current trends in Children’s Ministry.
