About The Position

The Early Education Teacher at Primrose School of Broken Arrow is responsible for fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for children from infancy to kindergarten. This role emphasizes the development of children's confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning through structured daily activities and small group instruction. The teacher will implement the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum, ensuring that each child's developmental needs are met while maintaining a well-kept classroom and participating in the school's community activities.

Requirements

  • Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency.
  • Entry-Level Child Care Training (ELCCT) must be completed within 90 days of employment.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Safe Sleep certifications required or to be obtained during employment.
  • Preferred: Master teacher level 3 (Oklahoma Competency Certificate) or above.
  • 2-year degree in early childhood or related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred for Infant - Preschool Teachers.
  • Previous experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
  • Knowledge of the academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child safety and emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program.
  • Knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
  • Observe and adhere to all health, safety, and care regulations.
  • Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules according to the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
  • Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with the Leadership Team.
  • Maintain an attractive and well-kept classroom that encourages exploration and decision-making.
  • Provide verbal recognition and clear expectations for children's behavior.
  • Handle maintenance and housekeeping duties for the classroom and common areas.
  • Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as per the employee handbook.
  • Assist in other necessary capacities as determined by the Director.
