About The Position
Temple Shalom Nursery School (TSNS) is a play-based, nature-rich early childhood program serving children ages 18 months to 5 years. Rooted in Jewish values—community, kindness, respect, curiosity, and justice—we create a warm, inclusive environment where children, families, and educators thrive. Our program emphasizes outdoor learning in all seasons, nature-based exploration (gardening, plants, animals), a child-led, play-based curriculum, and strong, collaborative teaching teams. We are seeking enthusiastic Early Childhood Educators who are creative and open to innovative, play-based learning, curious about child development and emergent curriculum, energized by outdoor, nature-based education, and strong collaborators who value teamwork and reflection. This is an ideal role for educators who want to grow professionally while making meaningful impact in a supportive school community.
Requirements
- Experience in early childhood education (ECE) preferred
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of play-based or Reggio-inspired approaches a plus
- Jewish knowledge/experience is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing, engaging classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Facilitate play-based and outdoor learning experiences
- Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership
- Communicate effectively with families
- Maintain a safe, organized, and joyful classroom
Benefits
- $24–$29/hour, based on experience
