About The Position

This position provides instruction and supervision to children within an early childhood classroom setting. The teacher assists the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and all classroom activities. Key responsibilities include executing the daily schedule and lesson plans to ensure children are productively engaged, maintaining compliance with all applicable licensing and accreditation guidelines, offering guidance and support to children, communicating effectively with families, and ensuring both the health and safety of the children and the hygiene of the classroom environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • An additional six months experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Must obtain within first month of employment a physical and TB and maintain annually thereafter
  • Must obtain Entry Level Child Care Training (ELECT) training within 90 days of employment
  • Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA); or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report; or listed on the GSA's List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Associate Credential or Certificate of Master in Early childhood Education is preferred
