About The Position

The Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist will provide in-home evaluation, assessment, and treatment services to children with developmental concerns and their families. This role includes consultation and training for CDSA staff and providers on mental and behavioral health issues, as well as involvement in community development activities to enhance resources and support for children with developmental needs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a NC behavioral health license such as LPA, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of social-emotional development in young children ages 0-3 years.
  • Experience supervising treatment approaches for social-emotional and attachment issues in young children, including those with developmental disabilities and/or delays.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics and the impact of developmental disabilities and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) on families.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program.
  • Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team setting related to mental and behavioral health issues.
  • General knowledge of early intervention principles with young children.
