About The Position

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to promote social-emotional wellness in early childhood settings through education, consultation, and trauma-informed support. As a Prevention Specialist, you will serve young children and families by partnering with early childhood education providers—including Head Start programs, childcare centers, and preschools—to promote positive social-emotional development. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or Elementary Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field
Ohio Teaching License or LSW, LPC is required
Ability to obtain Early Childhood Mental Health Credential within 2 years
Strong knowledge of early childhood development
Culturally competent and trauma-informed practice
Strong communication, collaboration, and active listening skills
Ability to work independently and across interdisciplinary teams
Comfort traveling between program sites

Nice To Haves

Infant Mental Health Practitioner Credential
Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, or QPR certificates

Responsibilities

Conduct classroom observations and provide behavior management consultation
Teach social-emotional lessons to small groups and classrooms
Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with educators and families
Refer families to community-based services as needed
Lead trainings on trauma, ACEs, resilience, parenting, and mental health
Represent GCBHS at community meetings and stakeholder events
