This position operates under general supervision and adheres to specific procedures to ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating classroom environment. The Lead Teacher is tasked with planning and executing engaging classroom activities that promote learning and development. This includes providing constant supervision during various activities such as planning time, outdoor play, mealtime, and nap time. Regular assessments of individual and group needs are conducted to address specific interests, strengths, and concerns. Collaboration with the Assistant Teacher is essential to develop a cohesive approach that benefits all children in the classroom. The ECLT also maintains regular communication with parents through conferences to discuss assessments, classroom progress, and educational strategies that support children's development. Furthermore, the Lead Teacher is responsible for monitoring and reporting any instances of child abuse, attending and participating in professional development activities, and engaging in ongoing self-assessment regarding job performance. Compliance with State Licensing Regulations, Health Department and Fire Marshal Standards, CACFP requirements, and STARS to Quality Standards is mandatory. The ECLT must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and stressors effectively while maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor with children.
