About The Position

The Early Childhood Instructional Aide assists the classroom teacher in providing for the physical and instructional needs of students. This role involves assisting in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction. The aide works under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.

Requirements

Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work well with children
Proficient communication skills
Ability to operate computer using a variety of basic applications
Knowledge of general office equipment

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings

Responsibilities

Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher
Assist teachers in providing modified instruction for ESL students in inclusive settings
Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments
Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom
Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students
Assist in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports
Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom
Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment
Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
Serve as an interpreter in situations when one is needed
Assist students with activities of personal care which can including diapering, toileting, and/or dressing
Any other duties as assigned by Campus Principal
