About The Position

Early Childhood IEP Coordinator for the Brunswick School Department Brunswick’s Special Education Department is excited to advertise for the position of IEP Coordinator for early childhood. We are seeking a dynamic, flexible, highly organized individual to provide appropriate oversight and management of the Department’s IEP process requirements and to support the Department’s development of early childhood special education for students ages three-five. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, an independent work ethic, and the ability to build positive relationships with families. The individual should have excellent organizational skills, a willingness to collaborate with special educators, general educators, related service providers, community partners and administrators. This position has the potential to start as soon as March 2026. A later start date may be possible for the right candidate. This position would support the preliminary work of developing structures and processes to add four years olds with disabilities for the 26/27 school year and three year olds in 27/28. Responsibilities will include: Support and assist with the Child Find, evaluation, and IEP processes; Assist in developing systems to ensure a free and appropriate education is provided to students with disabilities ages three to five; Provide effective facilitation of the Department’s IEP meetings; Review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for identified students to assure that each IEP is complete, and in compliance with state and federal regulations; Provide feedback and training to special education teacher/case managers in regards to paperwork compliance; Serve as the department’s administrator authorized to commit Department funds at IEP meetings; Act as liaison between Brunswick School Department and early childhood programs in regards to special education. Other duties as assigned related to the development of our early childhood special education program. This position is located at the central office with in district travel required. Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as Teacher of Students With Disabilities
  • State of Maine 282 or 282-B certification
  • Valid Maine Criminal History Records Check
