About The Position

Coordinates the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), School Readiness and Early Childhood Screening programs district wide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid Minnesota Administrative Licensure
  • Current Minnesota Teaching license in Early Childhood or Parent & Family Education.
  • Three to five years experience teaching in an Early Childhood Education program, in program management, and in early childhood curriculum development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Google Applications.
  • Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  • Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program development, long range planning and program goals, curriculum, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate an ongoing assessment of participant needs and interests, and address participants' questions and concerns.
  • Develop and coordinate an ongoing program evaluation process.
  • Conduct observations of licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Oversee public relations, promotional strategies, including brochure development and flyers marketing the programs.
  • Coordinate staffing process for teachers and paraprofessionals within early learning to meet program needs.
  • Supervise, coach and evaluate Early Learning site coordinators and support staff.
  • Develop and monitor the Early Learning program budgets; approve expenditures; seek alternative funding.
  • Plan and facilitate all staff meetings and in-services.
  • Administer the Early Learning Advisory Council and committees.
  • Negotiate program space; work with building management and school personnel to manage sites; design site environments.
  • Coordinate systems for record keeping and reporting to the Early Learning ECFE Advisory Council, Community Education Advisory Council, School Board and Department of Education.
  • Plan, implement and monitor Voluntary Pre-K funding and programs.
  • Work with community agencies to build collaborative programming and services.
  • Coordinate with Community Education staff and programs.
  • Coordinate with Special Services to develop integrated programs and services.
  • Engage in District level leadership activities and committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
