About The Position

This position is responsible for providing academic instruction and supervision of pre-school children. Assess student progress and provide feedback to stakeholders regarding individual student performance. Collect data and prepare reports regarding performance and growth of students in order to accurately inform future programming. Other duties may include, but are not limited to serving meals, clerical support, following of individual student plans, and material preparation. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required, or the candidate must be eligible to enroll and demonstrate ongoing progress toward completion.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change.
  • Possesses computer and technology skills.
  • Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Collaborates well with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates effectively with the School District community.
  • Skilled in analysis, instruction, negotiation, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Proficient in comparing, computing, synthesizing, and evaluating information.
  • Meets attendance standards and works the necessary hours to fulfill essential responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Upholds a generally positive attitude.
  • Complies with all District policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • One year related work experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (preferred).
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with ECE endorsement (preferred).
  • English fluency will be determined through the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Implement ECE curriculum with appropriate activities, instruction, classroom management and supervision.
  • Collaborate with team members regarding activities, planning, and resources for all students.
  • Assess student progress.
  • Use assessments to measure effectiveness of instruction and modify instruction as necessary.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences, home visits and regular communication with families.
  • Provide assistance and resources to families.
  • Maintain student records, including but not limited to, attendance, meal records, student observation, progress reports, TS GOLD documentation, contact records, and injury/accident reports.
  • Maintain records and information regarding service needs including history to document compliance with Head Start requirements.
  • Maintain a learning environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the requirements of the Health Department and Licensing agency.
  • Establish student, staff and parental rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems.
  • Actively participate in PLCs and other required training.
  • Apply and implement knowledge, skills and new understandings to support instructional programming.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
  • May provide supervision of support personnel.
  • Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to interview participation, training/development, assign and direct work, performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems.
