Requirements

  • 5 years of experience providing direct service in early childhood education.
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, psychology, social work, sociology, or related field.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid MN state driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment screening.
  • 3 years of experience providing mentoring, coaching, consultation, or technical assistance.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota child care licensing and programmatic requirements in the early care and education system in Minnesota.
  • Must have valid Minnesota Driver’s license.
  • You must own a motor vehicle.
  • You must operate a motor vehicle independently and travel throughout the region, and statewide as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally sensitive relationship-based professional development (RBPD) and coaching to early care and education settings, including child care centers and family child care providers throughout Minnesota.
  • Encourage and support collaboration between families, providers, community programs, and organizations.
  • Provide coaching to assist early childhood professionals in supporting, modeling, goal setting and reflection, and resources focused on inclusion, health and safety policies, and/or infant and toddler best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with early childhood educators to jointly develop and implement action plans to meet ongoing goals. Provide direct support and modeling as well as observation and reflective feedback to promote goals.
  • Assist those being coached to structure environments, routines and interactions that contribute to positive social-emotional outcomes for the children and families in a program.
  • Connect programs, families, and individuals to CICC resources and/or to community partners to access external support.
