You will provide support and coaching to the Classroom Lead Teachers and Classroom Teaching Assistants. The Early Childhood Behavior and Classroom Coach ensures the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices in the classroom environment through actively modeling and coaching within the classroom setting.

Requirements

Must be able to work with children birth to age 21 and families who are at risk.
Knowledge of Benchmark Assessment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding dress code.
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; or
Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field, plus four years of experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), or Birth to Pre-K Credential; or
Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, plus six years of experience in Early Childhood Education; or
Eight years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one of the following within two years of employment:
Child Development Associate Credential; or
Birth to Pre-K Credential; or
Director’s Credential or the equivalent; or
Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood Development Specialist (ECDS) qualifications. If ECDS qualifications are not currently met, must actively pursue qualifications that would meet the requirements. Requirements are:
Licensed as a Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Developmental Therapist; or
Bachelor’s Degree and at least one of the following:
Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education certificate; or
Current Child Development Associate’s certificate; or
Current Birth to Pre-K credential; or
Documented experience working with children with special needs and twelve hours of completed college courses in Early Childhood, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Studies

Responsibilities

Oversees implementation and modification of classroom curriculum on a weekly basis.
Creates preschool classroom schedules for individual classrooms, library, recess, lunch, and special events, and modifies as needed.
Creates and distributes monthly classroom calendar to all preschool classrooms.
Aids in communication to therapists concerning classroom curriculum and activities in conjunction with the Administration team.
Oversees the evaluation and development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) as needed and monitors each ITP for progress/goal completion.
Leads meetings, as needed, with each child’s parent/guardian and/or therapist.
Oversees the provision of Habilitative Services in the classroom.
Supervises the direct care provided to EIDT recipients.
Participates in 45- and 90-day reviews for all new enrollees in the preschool.
Serves as Lead monitor of Recess Zones for safety and Indoor Recess Quality.
Ensures all classroom documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensures completion of Handwriting Without Tears and Kindergarten Readiness assessments twice per year as outlined in the academic calendar to be presented to parents at the annual Parent Teacher Conference.
Assists in classrooms as required by center needs.
Refers non-classroom management related issues to the Director of Preschool Services.
Oversees curriculum supply list and ensures acquisition of supplies.
Maintains and submits receipts and budget for each month.
Leads weekly toddler and Pre-K curriculum meetings during the weekly lead teacher meeting.
Leads a classroom team meeting with each classroom team at least once a month and reports agenda and findings to the administrative team.
Provides feedback and follow-up to each classroom and/or individual teacher during the monthly classroom team or individual meeting as needed.
Models appropriate teaching/engagement/interaction as needed following the classroom team meeting.
Works to effectively train teaching staff as needed for optimal classroom functioning.
Actively attends and contributes to all required administrative meetings.
Assists with multidisciplinary conferences and parent conferences as needed.
Actively observes, supports, and models as needed in classroom activities in each classroom daily. Activities to include: Circle Time, Center Time, Arrivals, Departures, Transition Activities, Academic Activities, Recess Time, and Nap Time
Implements behavior management through modeling and coaching with appropriate use of supports and de-escalation strategies
Completes an observation note for each classroom observation.
Reports a summary of pertinent findings from observations during the weekly one-on-one with the Director of Preschool Services.
Oversees the Kindergarten transition process, including coordinating and attending transition conferences and referral meetings for children graduating into kindergarten.
Oversees required Kindergarten transition paperwork as compiled and completed by the Site Support Specialists.
Assists Director of Preschool Services with creation and/or implementation of corrective action plans as needed.
Ensures completion and accuracy of all classroom documentation and practices through quality assurance review.
Assists in the hiring process and new hire orientation for classroom staff, including the follow-up process for new hires with classroom observations as needed.
Monitors classrooms for Arkansas Childcare Licensing violations. Addresses any noted issues with the classroom and notifies the Director of Preschool Services.
