About The Position

The Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Center (FJECC) at Temple Israel, named one of "The Hub's Top Preschools," has an immediate opening (full-time) for a caring and nurturing Assistant Teacher. We are a Jewish early childhood program within a large Reform Congregation and serve a diverse community of students ages 20 months to 5 years old. We are a Reggio-inspired, constructivist program which joyously integrates quality Jewish and secular education.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
Ability to work well as a member of a team, ask for help, accept feedback, and offer your own creative ideas.
Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's "Strong Start" certification within 90 days of employment.
Sense of humor and appreciation of the developmental joys of young children.
Ability to actively interact with children including kneeling, bending, running and sitting on the floor and in small chairs.

Nice To Haves

Background in early childhood education and 1-3 years’ experience in early education preferred.

Responsibilities

Care for the physical and emotional well-being of 9-16 children in your class, including planning curriculum based on each individual child's and the full class' interests and emerging interests.
Help maintain a safe and aesthetically-pleasing indoor and outdoor environment that allows children to explore, play and create.
Provide documentation of what the class is learning, through displays in the classroom and school and via our online app, Kaymbu.
Communicate effectively with your team, with families, other teachers, and the school administration.
