About The Position

This role assists with classroom instruction, supervision, lesson planning, and care routines such as feeding, diapering, and health checks. The Assistant Teacher also helps maintain a clean classroom, communicates with parents, supports assessments, and works closely with the lead teacher to meet program and licensing standards.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
DCS Central Registry Background Check
Drug Screening
TB Test (Depending on Program)
CPR/First Aid Certification
Therapeutic Options Training (Depending on Program)
Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License
Current Auto Liability Insurance
39 Month Motor Vehicle Record

Responsibilities

Assist in the education, supervision, and care of children
Assist in planning and preparing the environment and activities for children
Assist with classroom education, assessments and lesson planning
Work directly with children in an instruction setting
Prepare daily reports, health checks and documentation as required by the program
Establish and maintain a rapport with parents
Welcome and work with visitors and volunteers
Ensure the safety of children at all times
Clean up, diapering, potty training of children – if age appropriate
Serve meals and drinks to children
Adhere to all organizational policies, including the Code of Conduct, professional standards, and relevant regulations.
