About The Position

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Water Resources Engineer or Scientist in one of our Tampa, FL; Boca Raton, FL; Clearwater, FL; Orlando, FL; or Jacksonville, FL offices. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while solving our clients’ water resources challenges and to develop experience related to hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, geospatial data analysis, and reporting, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or biosystems engineering, environmental science or similar. (required)
Strong written and oral communication skills. (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in water resources engineering.
Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
0 to 2 years of professional experience.
Prior research or professional experience with surface water/H&H modeling.
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting.
Experience with modeling software such as ICPR, SWMM, or HEC-RAS.
Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.

Responsibilities

Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling
Watershed and stormwater management design and analysis
Water quality assessments
Drainage design and permitting
Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs
Data management, analysis, and visualization
Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water
Fieldwork such as site visits/field operations oversight, stormwater infrastructure inventories and surface water sampling
Water resources sustainability and resiliency planning
Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, tables, figures, specifications, and proposals.
