About The Position

Shimmick is seeking an Early Career Talent Specialist to support and grow our university recruiting program. In this role, you’ll manage full-cycle recruitment process for interns and early-career hires, while building strong partnership with universities, student organizations, and internal business leaders. You’ll be a key ambassador for Shimmick, engaging with top student talent and showcasing the opportunities our organization has to offer. Requirements

  • BA/BS and 2+ years of university recruiting experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Exceptional organization skills with strong attention to detail; deadline driven.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills; confident in public speaking and presenting.
  • Enthusiasm for campus recruiting and developing early-career talent.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication with a positive, client/candidate-focused customer service attitude.
  • Experience working in or with universities and colleges on recruitment/placement activities.
  • Understanding of the campus recruitment environment.

Responsibilities

  • Source and engage top student talent, build a strong candidate pipeline, extend offers, and close intern and early-career hires.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and align recruiting strategies.
  • Plan, register, and execute recruiting events (career fairs, info sessions, on-campus visits, and virtual events).
  • Attend professional conferences and identify other networking opportunities on behalf of the program and alumni and implement and manage ongoing alumni relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, student groups, and professional organizations to expand outreach.
  • Increase Shimmick’s brand visibility and act as a key ambassador at campus events and industry conferences.
  • Support and act as a resource for interns during their internship experience.
  • Travel as needed during the fall and spring recruiting seasons.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
