Position Overview We are currently seeking a self-motivated Junior Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer to join our Syracuse, York office. This entry-level position offers a balance of office-based responsibilities and field activities, supporting a wide range of environmental projects. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to support projects that protect natural resources and promote sustainable communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geosciences, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, including exposure to:
  • Field sampling procedures
  • Monitoring well installation
  • Subcontractor oversight
  • Analytical data interpretation
  • Technical reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
  • Ability to travel frequently, typically on 2-3 day long trips. Most travel will be local to York state, but will require overnight stays. Travel is variable throughout the year.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS and/or CAD
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • First Aid / CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental assessments and investigations involving surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
  • Perform data entry, quality review, and assist with report preparation to document field investigation results
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and other project-related documentation
  • Provide field oversight and support on environmental and construction-related projects
  • Support general office and administrative tasks for project teams
  • Assist with a diverse range of projects, which may include environmental compliance, construction support, natural resource management, and hazardous site investigation and remediation
