Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or coursework demonstrating a working knowledge of reactor physics and thermal-hydraulics phenomena
  • Experience with software development with C, C++, Fortran, or Python code development
  • Experience with computer model development and application (e.g. SERPENT, MCNP, SCALE, CASMO, SIMULATE, or other nuclear industry analysis code)
  • Effectively communicate highly technical topics to diverse groups which include Framatome management, customers, and NRC staff
  • Experience developing and documenting software within an NQA-1 quality assurance program

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events.
  • Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
  • Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed.

Benefits

  • Salary: $82,000 - $107,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
