ABS Global, a Genus company, has exciting opportunities! We are taking applications for a Temporary Part-time Production Lab Technician to oversee production operations, including assembly, processing, and/or packaging. The positions are located at our labs in Rio, WI and Windsor, WI. The Temporary Part-time Production Lab Technician roles have the primary accountability for operating production equipment for processing cell sexing technology. These positions are hired on for a period of 3 months and can be extended depending on work availability. These positions are perfect for our Early Career applicants, looking to gain lab experience while attending school. Two programs we work with to accommodate education programs are the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Program through Wisconsin Workforce Development and Madison Area Technical College. This position will allow you to satisfy the minimum of 192 hours work experience requirement in the Biotechnology Laboratory Technician Associate Degree program at MATC or the 450 hours of work experience with the YA program.   • Follow SOP and maintain lab documentation, Provide accurate, timely and quality packaging of bovine semen in accordance with ABS standards.
  • Learn other ancillary processes throughout the production lab as business needs necessitate.
  • Adhere to proper cleaning, sanitation and sterilization protocols for all processing and collection equipment.
  • Provide ideas for improvement in the work environment.
  • Communicate issues to appropriate personnel (leads, supervisors, manager, support group).
  • Perform all assigned duties based on daily production needs.
  • Follow safe work procedures and report any incidents.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must possess or work towards a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in and attending a course of education either in high school, GED program, technical college or university.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience within a production laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Ability to lift/transfer 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on always maintaining the highest level of quality.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse to accomplish work tasks (includes but is not limited to the ability to look at computer monitor screens for the entirety of assigned shift).
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
