Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design and construction processes and concepts.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and others.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements.

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and specific engineering discipline.
  • Active participation in local professional practice organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources for project development, design, and construction.
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate measurements.
  • Perform basic professional geotechnical and civil engineering work related to site conditions, including subsurface investigations and soil foundation engineering.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies for safety and functionality.
  • Verify site characteristics and assist with environmental, design, and construction issues.
  • Generate complete and accurate documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
