About The Position

Do you have a passion for the environment, analyzing data, and are looking to join a collaborative, innovative team of environmental and data scientists? Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time early-career level environmental scientist or engineer to join our Data Solutions Group. The ideal candidate has coursework and independent project experience in areas such as environmental science, biology, chemistry, toxic contaminants, environmental risk assessment, statistics, programming, and data science. You will have a passion for problem-solving, attention to detail and quality, and an interest in environmental issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or a related field.
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with basic statistics and the ability to provide supporting visualizations in an analytics platform like PowerBI, Plotly Dash, Posit Shiny, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with EarthSoft EQuIS environmental data management system or similar application.
  • Familiarity with SQL and one or more programming languages (such as Python, JavaScript, or .NET).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and the ability to work independently.
  • Enjoy working with multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, cleanse, and load data into a relational database using SQL, Python, and other tools and programming languages.
  • Review data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project teams, field data collection teams, and analytical chemistry laboratories.
  • Perform data analysis, compare results against regulatory criteria, and prepare data tables.
  • Perform some programming to support data analysis, visualization, reporting, and task automation tools.
  • Some field work is possible but not required for the position.
