Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Environmental Engineer to join our contaminated site assessment and remediation practice in our Sacramento, California office. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Ability to perform regular field work (approximately 50%) and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (preferred)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification. (preferred)
  • Prior professional or internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, ArcView, AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D. (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
  • Treatment system commissioning, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
  • Preparation of technical specifications and contract documents for construction.
  • CAD design and drafting of design/construction documents.
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
