WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Civil Engineer for our Cincinnati, OH office. This position will be based in our Cincinnati, OH office with the ability to work in a hybrid setting, a combination of home and office, or remotely. Be involved in projects with our Site Civil Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. The Early Career Site Civil Engineer will be involved in supporting the electrical utility and renewable energy service areas. You’ll be asked to support grading and drainage/stormwater management design for new and existing electrical utility sites, and renewable energy sites (solar, wind, battery storage), as well as access road design, permitting, and construction support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification or receipt of Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Interest in storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway, and utility design
  • The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship in electrical utilities, site development or stormwater management focus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of civil/site engineering projects:
  • AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Stormwater management calculations, design, and modeling
  • Floodplain modeling and analysis
  • Site layout, grading, drainage designs, and drawings
  • Bill of materials
  • Construction specifications
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
