About The Position
The EAP Clinical Counselor position at CVS Health is a fully remote role that allows you to work from anywhere in the U.S. This position is integral to providing telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling, and informational services within a call center environment. The counselor will utilize advanced clinical assessments, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques to address the needs of members effectively. The role requires the ability to conduct risk, substance abuse, and mental health assessments, developing immediate action and safety plans based on the urgency of the situation. Counselors must possess a comprehensive understanding of various levels of care related to mental health and substance use, enabling them to recommend appropriate care based on individual assessments. A key aspect of this role is the ability to build rapport with members quickly, aligning with their personal theories of change to facilitate effective support. The counselor will provide essential information regarding mental health, substance abuse, and community treatment options, assisting members in accessing resources to alleviate their stressors. The position demands multitasking skills, as counselors will need to document interactions while managing calls. Counselors are expected to maintain their independent behavioral health license in good standing and pursue ongoing professional development to meet state licensure requirements.
