The AI, Analytics and Digital team provides clear, timely, and actionable, research-based insights to guide how the World Bank Group plans, measures, and evaluates communications, marketing, and campaigns on priority issues—ensuring decisions are consistently informed by evidence rather than intuition. The team works to deploy AI tools and workflows responsibly across ECR to enhance efficiency and build new analytical and creative capabilities—enabling faster insight generation, deeper analysis, and scalable, evidence-driven decision-making. The World Bank Group is committed to enhancing its digital communications footprint to increase engagement, improve user experience, and ensure effective dissemination of its work to key audiences. As part of this strategy, the AI, Analytics, and Digital team is seeking a Digital Optimization Expert to translate digital performance data into clear insights and recommendations that strengthen digital communications across platforms. The main objective of this extended-term consultancy is to support the organization in optimizing the performance of its digital channels (web, newsletters, paid marketing) advanced data analysis, visualizations, and actionable recommendations, as well as AI-enabled tools and workflows that can support ECR staff. The consultant will help establish a clear understanding of digital audience behavior, benchmark KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve content strategy and user engagement. This is an Extended Term Full-Time Consultancy for one year. The job is based in Washington, D.C. The successful candidate is expected to work in the office a minimum of 4 days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital communications, data analytics, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital analytics and channel optimization.
  • Experience in generative search optimization, prompt research, and AI search readiness strategies.
  • Knowledge of structured data and entity-level SEO practices.
  • Experience developing AI agents to inform communications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Analytics, including calculated metrics, segmentation, reporting, and dashboard creation and Adobe Campaign reporting.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Launch and tagging best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of tools such as BrightEdge, Google Search Console as well as website HTTP status codes.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau data visualization tools—with ability to design clear, actionable dashboards and communicate findings visually to diverse audiences.
  • Experience evaluating paid campaigns (Google Ads, and Meta) with campaign management and audience targeting experience a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and chart creation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with global audiences and multilingual platforms.
  • Exposure to UX research, digital strategy, and A/B testing.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to convey technical findings clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams including content creators, developers, strategists, and leadership.
  • Analytical storytelling: Skilled in framing insights in ways that are actionable, persuasive, and aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical SEO and GEO audits of existing web pages and information architecture, prioritizing high-impact enhancements and fixes, including Schema, structured data, and Open Graph metadata.
  • Deliver clear technical and editorial requirements for the development of new GEO-friendly, AI-discoverable content (e.g., FAQ pages).
  • Analyze and visualize (Power BI) crawl data from site logfiles and tools such as OnCrawl, escalating technical issues, and identifying content optimization opportunities.
  • Provide actionable editorial guidance to ECR colleagues to enhance the discoverability of WBG content in both traditional and LLM-driven search, leveraging prompt and keyword mining, site traffic and logfile data to surface high-demand themes and user intent among key audiences.
  • Monitor the WBG’s web presence—particularly across traditional and AI-driven search—using website analytics, SEO tools, logfile data, and Google Search Console and translate findings into clear optimization recommendations.
  • Deliver regular reporting on open rates and deliverability of priority WBG newsletters, evaluate the long-term value of different subscriber acquisition efforts, and support A/B testing, segmentation and personalization initiatives.
  • Support the WBG’s paid marketing efforts through interactive Power BI dashboards that consolidate data from all paid platforms—and provide analysis and recommendations to maximize reach and minimize costs, including designing and monitoring A/B tests that inform budget allocation and content and messaging decisions.
  • Support analytics leads and ECR colleagues with cross-channel performance measurement delivering clear insights, benchmarking, and actionable recommendations that quantify impact and inform future campaign design.
  • Develop AI-enabled agents trained on A/B testing results, performance data, and content insights to assist ECR colleagues in crafting content that drives higher audience engagement.
  • Maximize AI integration within existing ECR tools and identify cross-platform integration opportunities that will i) modernize workflows for ECR staff and ii) inform future WBG audience journeys and digital experience.
