The World Bank Group is seeking a Senior Industry Specialist as an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to lead the technical and operational aspects of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Industry programming. This role is pivotal in addressing the decarbonization of high-emitting industries and clean technology supply chains in developing countries. The CIF, one of the largest multilateral funds, aims to support low and middle-income countries in transitioning to low-carbon, climate-resilient development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing investment plans that respond to the unique challenges of decarbonization in transnational industries, collaborating with various stakeholders including government and corporate actors. The Senior Industry Specialist will work under the supervision of the CIF Clean Energy Lead and will be integral to the Clean Technology Fund team. Key responsibilities include launching CIF Industry programming, managing day-to-day operations, developing technical positions on major issues related to industrial sectors, and coordinating with multilateral development banks (MDBs) to align activities with CIF's strategic directions. The role also involves staying updated on developments in industrial decarbonization, providing strategic advice to CIF leadership, and representing CIF at public events.
