About The Position

At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. We have a profound influence on the entire J&J Enterprise, providing innovative workplaces where our employees can collaborate and grow, and delivering flexible site solutions which enable our business to best serve our important customers and patients. We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join the E&PS Facilities Management KDC (Kentucky Distribution Center) team within the department by assisting with updating building drawings in AutoCAD and contributing to site master planning efforts tied to ongoing renovations and long-term infrastructure needs. The Intern will also work on special and ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial preferred), Facilities Engineering/Facility Management, Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Architectural Design, Engineering Operations Management, or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required at time of interview and hire.
  • English Language Fluency
  • This position will require up to 10% domestic travel.
  • Proficient in design tool AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google Software.
  • Showcases knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint, ability to prepare dashboards, status reports, etc.
  • Good communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • A self-starter, someone that proactively takes the lead and establishes relationships.
  • Effectively handles complexity with workload and business partners.
  • Seeks feedback for self-improvement.
  • Incorporates diverse points of view.
  • Proven leadership skills, technical skills and provides business comprehension.

  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Use of AutoCAD to update building drawings to coincide with renovations.
  • Assist in continued development of site master plan.
  • Provide project coordination/management support such as participation in team meetings, scheduling, taking meeting minutes and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Perform ad hoc requests and data analysis as required to gather insights and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports and presentations as required.
