JOB SUMMARY The E-Learning Developer (ELD) works closely with Instructional Designers (ID) and the Quality Assurance (QA) team to create assets to facilitate student learning. The ELD uses e-learning tools to create learning objects, presentations, and videos, and will format documents for accessibility, create visual assets, and develop training materials for team members. Salary range is $45,000-$55,000 annually (DOE).

  • High attention to detail and commitment to a quality product
  • Strong aesthetic design composition and typographic abilities
  • Beginner knowledge of fundamental e-learning authoring tools and/or online learning platforms
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Technologically independent and able to work as part of a virtual team
  • Flexible and able to track, prioritize, and follow up on multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with staff, faculty, and students
  • Ability to quickly learn how to use e-learning authoring design/development tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Storyline, Lectora Publisher, etc.)
  • General understanding of ADA compliance standards and WCAG 2.0
  • Bachelor’s degree in Educational/Instructional Technology, Interactive Media Design, Graphic Design, Instructional Design or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of or experience with learning management systems (LMS) and/or learning content management systems (LCMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, ANGEL, Sakai, WebCT, Vista, etc., or content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress, Drupal, or Joomla
  • Previous work in a support role
  • Any programming or database experience would be applicable

Responsibilities

  • Convert and revise online higher education courses
  • Provide training to Orbis team, students, and faculty
