About The Position

Autonomy is hiring an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician for a Direct-hire position with an industrial manufacturing client in Spartanburg, SC. This role is instrumentation-forward ideal candidates will bring strong hands-on experience with transmitters, control valves, loops, RTDs, thermocouples, and similar field instruments, in addition to solid general electrical skills. Requirements

  • Industrial maintenance experience in instrumentation systems — this is the primary focus of the role
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems: motors, MCC panels, power distribution, and lighting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, P&IDs, and schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting instrument loops and performing root cause analysis
  • Ability to use hand tools, electrical measuring equipment, and power tools
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 100 lbs; climb ladders up to 20 ft
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including FRC, face shields, respirators, and safety harness
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical or instrumentation experience

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of industrial E&I experience in a manufacturing or process plant environment
  • Significant hands-on experience with AC/DC drive systems
  • Familiarity with radar levels, nuclear levels, and micro motion flow meters
  • Knowledge of inverters and drives
  • Experience with SAP maintenance system
  • Knowledge of Planning & Scheduling and Maintenance Best Practices
  • Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution equipment

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems throughout the plant
  • Maintain and calibrate field instruments including transmitters, control valves, RTDs, thermocouples, and flow meters
  • Service and maintain motors, MCC panels, lighting, and other electrical distribution equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC drive systems and inverters
  • Support loop checks, P&ID verification, and instrument loop troubleshooting
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals
  • Perform bench rebuilds and repairs on instrumentation components and control valves
  • Execute Safe Work Permit processes including LOTO, Hot Work, and Confined Space entry
  • Document all work activities, time, and findings in SAP
  • Participate in on-call/duty rotation approximately 4–5 times per year
