About The Position

The E&I Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems that support industrial operations. This role ensures reliable and safe operation of electrical circuits, process instruments, control systems, and related equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an E&I Technician in an industrial, refinery, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of process instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) preferred.
  • Understanding of ISA standards, NEC codes, and basic networking principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, including motors, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical circuits, motor control centers, and process control wiring.
  • Maintain, test, and calibrate process instruments measuring temperature, pressure, flow, level, and analytical parameters.
  • Support system upgrades and modifications to improve reliability and process control.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, megohm meters, calibrators, and loop simulators.
  • Document work performed, equipment changes, and calibration data accurately.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and correct equipment issues.
  • Participate in safety meetings and maintain compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
