This position is for an E&I Tech Journeyman MCERT responsible for devising, selecting, setting up, and operating electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus. The role involves conducting operational and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment and translating test data for engineering personnel to support design and evaluation decisions. Key duties include selecting, installing, calibrating, and checking sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation, as well as developing specifications for nonstandard apparatus. The technician will also sketch, build, or modify jigs, fixtures, and instruments, perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus, and install or direct the installation of units in test facilities. Operating test apparatus to simulate conditions like vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration is required. The role also entails analyzing and converting test data using mathematical formulas, preparing graphs and written reports, and potentially planning test programs and utilizing computerized equipment and software for testing and data production.
