A Typical DayThe E&I Supervisor is responsible for the effective execution of all E&I maintenance and related projects within the plants at HCC. Must facilitate the development of a highly skilled, well trained, committed and spirited E&I team to support the plant operations in their quest for high-quality, low-cost objectives as defined by the mission of Hilmar Cheese Company

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 4 years related experience, OR Associate's degree in related field plus 2 years related experience, OR Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience or equivalent.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of all types of electrical systems including PLC, Line and Control circuitry.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diplomas and 6 years of related experience, OR Associate’s degree in related field plus 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to multi-task and have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 3 years of facilities/industrial maintenance experience.
  • PLC, HMI or DCS certifications
  • Experience with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a safe and effective working environment for the E&I Team.
  • Reviews available planned job package for completeness and correctness. Refines and finalizes labor, parts, and priorities.
  • Advise planner/scheduler of any changes and logic behind them.
  • Confirm that an adequate number of E&I techs are assigned to each job and that all jobs are prioritized accordingly.
  • Assure that all jobs will be done economically, efficiently, and safely.
  • Ensure, at the start of the shift and throughout the day, the prompt assignment of E&I techs to specific jobs, which are appropriate to their possessed skills and/or to their training needs.
  • Control time-lost between jobs and at breaks and shift changes.
  • Make tactical decisions when necessary; staying as close to schedule as possible.
  • Follow-up with E&I techs on suggestions of ways to improve either planning or job methods.
  • Coordinates E&I related efforts between shifts to achieve orderly change over.
  • Devote ample time and attention to formal and on-the-job training to enable technicians to maintain/develop a high level of expertise with both new and existing equipment.
  • Communicate with Maintenance, Production and Planning to coordinate electronic and instrumentation related items to be completed.
  • Provide detailed reports on downtime issues to promote proactive responses and practices.
  • Use SAP to create work orders. Training of Technicians on the use of SAP and generating work requests.
  • Maintain an “On Call” status for breakdowns.
