The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer is accountable for ensuring the reliability, integrity, and optimal performance of site E&I assets with an emphasis on electrical assets. This role provides engineering and technical support to maintenance, reliability, and capital project functions, including maintaining accurate documentation, implementing effective preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, supporting troubleshooting activities, and ensuring equipment is maintained to original specifications and applicable standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops relationships with OEMs (equipment manufacturers) for access to drawings, specifications and instructions in order to ensure reliability and integrity of site's E&I equipment. Establishes maintenance practices for the optimization and ongoing functionality of site equipment including as appropriate: design specifications, repair methodology (equipment restoration), tools and methods design, development, and rollout. Recommend and optimize PMs (Project Managers) to improve life cost and effectiveness. Ensures the appropriate assignment and utilization of E&I maintenance contractors and inspectors for site effectiveness and efficiency. Provides general oversight to ensure activities are focused and aligned to Stepan priorities and all safety procedures/policies are adhered to during work. Works with reliability engineers to ensure that all spare parts are aligned with critical equipment requirements. Work with area engineers and planners to set ordering parameters appropriately and facilitate RSD (spares, reliability strategy) process for new assets. Identifies and supports the implementation of capital improvements that will improve the overall life cycle cost and reliability of critical production equipment. Accurately adheres to the documentation requirements for the Management of Change (MOC) process. Leads and supports the use and implementation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and oversees the implementation of the recommended actions from the FMEA. Provides support root cause failure analyses and the development of corrective actions with shared responsibility for areas as it relates to E&I equipment failures. Leads technical investigations of causes for E&I equipment failure. Supports and/or facilitates corrective action resolution of equipment "bad actor" list. Collaborates with Reliability Engineers to ensure that work identified by the reliability group is prioritized for execution in a timely manner. Participate and maintain compliance related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC+ and others.Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, review, and revise maintenance, reliability procedures, and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks for E&I equipment. Selecting and interpreting appropriate E&I specifications. Reviewing and approving drawings, quotes, and work scopes. Ensuring compliance with RAGAGEP and company standards. Lead and support the implementation of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and oversee completion of recommended actions. Provide technical support for root cause failure analysis (RCFA) related to E&I equipment failures, including leading technical investigations and developing corrective actions. Support and/or facilitate corrective actions for equipment identified on the “bad actor” list. Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs and equipment manufacturers to obtain drawings, specifications, manuals, and technical guidance.
