About The Position

At Sylvamo, we're a team on a mission. Joining us, you'll be helping to sustain forests and renew ecosystems, while delivering on the promise of paper to educate, communicate and entertain the world. Sylvamo, a major pulp and paper producer, is seeking its next generation of top Electrical & Instrumentation Technician Assistants for the Eastover, SC Mill. This position will assist Journeyman-level E&I Technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. This will be a temporary position that will be structured to better prepare students for active employment in an industrial environment while earning them College Credit Hours.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an Electrical-Instrumentation Technology curriculum or an equivalent, recognized Electrical & Instrumentation Technology Program.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC, Electric drive, Process Control and Instrumentation, and power distribution systems, Robotics, and Industrial Safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, operating in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman-level E&I Technicians in routine maintenance work.
  • Perform electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair.
  • Install conduit & wire.
  • Repair lighting.
  • Troubleshoot & repair PLCs.
  • Troubleshoot & repair drives.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot & repair instrumentation & control valves.
