About The Position

As an e-Filing Specialist, you will be responsible for electronically filing documents in state and federal courts. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle and other domestic offices. Daily Schedule: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience as a docket specialist. Ideally, with exposure to litigation in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency with e-Filing documents in state and federal courts.
  • The ability to interpret and analyze information.
  • Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a law firm environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Know applicable court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
  • Be able to file documents in State and appellate courts.
  • Have subject matter expertise on the requirements to e-File documents in federal and state courts across the country.
  • Act as a liaison between the courts and the firm’s attorneys on procedural and technical matters.
  • Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys.
  • Know how to research court case information to maintain an accurate record.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket.
  • Serve as a back-up for overflow docketing requests, when not e-Filing.
