About The Position

Job Summary:The Click & Collect Clerk is responsible for fulfilling grocery orders placed online and delivered to the customers when they arrive at the store. The Click & Collect Clerk is instrumental in providing a positive shopping experience for all customers. The Click & Collect Clerk will support other customer service deliverables across other departments. Essential Functions of the Position: Shop and stage orders for the customers who have placed an order online. Deliver orders to the customer when they arrive at the store for their pickup. Review orders from the app when it alerts that an order has been placed. Locate and carefully select the correct items from the order list. Communicate with customers when items are unavailable. Check expiration date, quality, and condition of all items, when selecting. Go through checkout when shopping is completed, to complete transactions. Assist with returning all products to shelves that customers have moved or returned before purchase, often called “go-backs.” Assist in maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness, product quality, and turnover for maximum sales and to minimize out-of-stock or overstock products. Provide friendly and helpful customer service at all times. Knowledge: Familiarity with product location in the store. Identification of appropriate product substitution, based on customer input. Understanding of customer service best practices and strategies to enhance customer engagement. Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members alike. Strong time management skills, meeting strict timelines for fulfillment and task prioritization during peak hours. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in product selection/order fulfillment. Basic technology skills to utilize handheld devices and navigate applications. Abilities: Ability to lift and carry groceries, using proper ergonomics and exercising product care. Ability to adapt to changing situations, manage multiple demands, and work effectively with diverse personalities. Ability to work in a high-volume environment, while remaining calm under pressure and maintaining a professional disposition. Physical Requirements: Stand and walk for extended periods, typically 8-hour shifts. Lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, and handling products. Move quickly and efficiently to assist customers and manage workload. Maintain physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment. Work Conditions: Work Hours: Vary, with availability required on weekends, evenings, and holidays; typically, 8-hour shifts for full-time employees. Environment: Indoor and outdoor, with exposure to seasonal weather conditions. Primary Workstations: Throughout store, at check stands, and parking lot. Dress Code: Professional and presentable attire as determined by store management, including a name tag, company-issued shirts, hats, jackets, or personal shirts that are black, burgundy, or blue, in good repair, and not faded. Exposure: May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals. Noise Level: Usually low to moderate, with occasional loud periods from customers, store announcements, and equipment. Interaction: Constant interaction with customers and team members in a fast-paced retail environment. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
