E&C Engineer II-Civil - Contract 1 Year Denver, Co - Hybrid (3 days in Office) Must live within a drivable distance of Denver, CO Your Day-to-Day: This civil engineering position supports the development of hydroelectric projects across Colorado. The engineer will provide civil expertise throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on evaluating design drawings and managing submittals and requests for information (RFIs) across multiple active sites. These projects are located near Georgetown, Glenwood Springs, and Durango, CO. The engineer will contribute to multiple concurrent efforts, ensuring consistency and quality in technical deliverables. You will work with the project manager, other teams and external consultants to support design coordination, construction planning, and field execution. Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develop functional requirements. Understand and apply standard engineering principles. Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Design and test components and integrate components to produce final product. Monitor quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluate a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigate causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements. Viewed as the technical project engineer or subject matter expert for us for an assigned responsibilities (i.e. subject matter, function, type of facility, equipment or product). Responsible for major projects or several complex projects of moderate to large scope. Be an organization expert on projects. Maintain contacts with individuals and units within and outside the corporation for action on technical matters. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review. May provide work direction for a team of engineers, technicians and other professionals to complete assignments. May lead multiple critical and complex projects. Essential Responsibilities Apply technical expertise and have a higher-level understanding of the basic principles of other related disciplines. Unique technical skills and primary competencies for this engineering level by applying advanced technical principles, theories and concepts, and contributes to the development of new principles, concepts and technical standards. Demonstrate unique technical skills. As a recognized internal technical SME, conceives plans to develop procedures, codes and standards in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity and supports the development of technical documentation through a series of complex scopes requiring unconventional approaches. Exercise authority and technical leadership on assignments. Assignments are strategic and have long-term possible effects for achieving overall our goals. Will be assigned to multiple critical and complex projects including design, equipment specification and selection, installation, startup, commissioning and evaluation of work results. Participate in bid/evaluation processes which include the preparation of bid documents, completion of technical evaluations for proposals and the approval of recommendations for selection. Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects. Is influential in all forms of communication with internal and external business. May provide oversight of engineers, interns, craft personnel, technicians and other professionals. May provide overall coordination of processes related to budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting and work order management, to support existing engineering projects or packaging proposals for future projects.
