If so, our Defense Systems (NGDS), Platform Systems Modernization (PSM) Operating Unit, wants you to join our Team of qualified, diverse individuals as a 2 nd shift SCA Tools & Parts Attendant . You will be assigned as an SCA Tools & Parts Attendant supporting multiple Department of Defense contracts in Lake Charles Louisiana. Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to): Receiving, storing, and issuing tools and parts, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices using the program specific system software. Maintain accurate inventory records for tooling using automated databases for tools issued at the PSM facility. Maintain accurate issue and receipt documents for government furnished tooling on site. Conducting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual audits / inventories and requisition stock as needed. Reporting damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information and maintain databases. Assigned tooling personnel may be required to clean, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment and forward major repairs to the on-site repair department or appropriate agency. Disposing of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedures. Monitoring assigned calibration items to ensure that measuring devices identified weekly by the calibration lab are turned-in IAW Northrop Grumman policies and procedures. Coordinate with department leads supervision and management for tooling requirements request additions for tooling as needed to complete task IAW work instructions. Complete daily “Beginning and end of Shift Checklist” audits. Conduct hourly checks of the Next Gen system for absences, initiate and apply appropriate measures to rectify issues and report any discrepancies to management. Inventory and sign for parts received from attendants to ensure custody of parts. Find parts in MES, part shortage tracker and utilizing containers, label box with Document number, place part into box and place into locations. Issue parts to mechanic utilizing MES part shortage tracker, ensure that the parts on the document have been issued in MES. Ensures the excess materials that mechanics draw, needs to be returned to attendant to be placed back into warehouse inventory. Occasionally needed to take parts to the back shop and pick up parts from the back shop. Receive parts from the shop floor and stage for attendants to return parts Notify attendants when parts are to be returned so attendant can come and pick up parts. Additional duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years` of experience in a parts crib, tool crib, maintenance/manufacturing environment, or tool inventory control position.
  • Able to work and flexible work schedules that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and be able to work standing up for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required.
  • Ability to use vibrating tools and perform torquing operations in include hand tools & power equipment and climb ladders or stairs.
  • Ability to obtain any clearance if determined to be required by the program.
  • Experience with data entry, and proficient using digital scanners for tool and parts control & inventory.
  • Experience receiving tools and parts, inspecting, verifying, inventory, cleaning, tracking for accuracy.
  • Knowledge of aviation specific tooling.
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman policies and procedures.
