About The Position

Chickasaw County School District Dyslexia Therapist Dyslexia Therapist Major job responsibilities will include: Administering and interpreting diagnostic tests to help identify students with dyslexic tendencies Providing therapy to identified students Instructing and evaluating students receiving reading interventions Assisting teachers in utilizing effective reading practices within the classroom setting Assisting in the coordination of Section 504 referral process for dyslexic students Developing or modifying curricula and preparing lessons and other instructional materials to students’ ability levels Provide professional development and coaching to campus personnel on reading issues The Dyslexia Therapist will be expected to participate in various professional development trainings to improve his/her job-related skills. He/she should keep informed of and comply with any and all federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies for 504 and special education students and teachers. He/she will compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required by a student’s Individual Reading Plan and any other required paperwork. This therapist should be able to work in a fluid environment, be able to establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with parents, principals, and teachers, and be prepared to perform other duties.

Requirements

  • Looking for certified Dyslexia Therapist with a 203 endorsement on his/her Mississippi Teacher License

Responsibilities
