Position Title: Dyslexia Interventionist (26-27 School Year) FLSA: Exempt REPORTS TO: Building Principal and I ntervention/Dyslexia Coordinator TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 190 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date. BEGINNING: 26-27 School Year This is a grant funded position and is analyzed and reviewed annually, with decisions to renew based on student data and budgetary needs. LOCATION: District Wide QUALIFICATIONS Meet Arkansas elementary or secondary teaching licensure requirements. Minimum three years classroom teaching experience. Coursework or professional development in the area of literacy/dyslexia. Demonstrate leadership abilities. Willingness to attend applicable training, some or which may occur during the summer or off contract hours. DISTRICT VALUES We will always put student needs first. We believe relationships matter. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for providing high quality, customized intervention to RTI Tier 3 students who have been identified as exhibiting characteristics associated with dyslexia. (45 minutes daily) Additionally serve other at-risk students, identified by the Universal Dyslexia Screener. (30 minutes daily) Small group intervention will be provided daily using the dyslexia program identified by the district. Individual student assessment will be conducted according to dyslexia program and/or district guidelines. Training for this position will be coordinated through the Parker Center. Assistance with planning, data analysis, and instructional implementation will be provided by the Intervention/Dyslexia Coordinator. Participates in grade level collaboration, planning, as part of PLCs, as well as school committees Follows all TESS rubric “proficient” level expectations for their role Supervises students on recess, bus, during before and after school duty, on field trips, extracurricular events, and in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day Maintains prompt and regular attendance Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others Maintains emotional control under stress Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations Performs other duties as assigned These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed.
