About The Position

Dyer Thuasne has an immediate opening in Hamlet, NC for a 1st Shift Dyer. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Position Overview This position is responsible for assisting the Dye Manager in maintaining the workflow and quality throughout the dyeing process. Dyer is also responsible for maintaining the Dye Formula and Procedure Program. Dyer will help to process samples and create formulas under the supervision of the Dye Manager. Dyer will be responsible for maintaining dye machines and performing the necessary duties to assist with meeting production requirements.

Requirements

High School or equivalent required
Proficient in Microsoft Office/ M3
2 years dye experience required
Ability to lift 50-80 lbs. routinely
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work in extreme heat and humid conditions
Ability to communicate and possess patience
Ability to operate a tow motor or order picker.

Responsibilities

Figures formulas that consist of chemicals and dyes.
Dyes samples and new colors with assistance from the dye Manager.
Trains new hires as is necessary.
Communicates issues/problems to the Dye Manager and other dye associates.
Communicates with suppliers on issues as is necessary.
Assist with problem solving.
Keys in work order data.
Weight chemicals and dyes and applies them to the runs at proper times.
Matches shades and makes adjustments to ensure that the dye lot is the proper shade of color.
Schedules the workflow, including the greige inventory to ensure the Utility Operator are pulling the greige products that are needed for the dye loads.
Checks priority list for any additions that may require changes to the dye schedule.
Maintains dye & chemicals.
Order Dyes and chemicals.
Load and unload dye tubs.
Run dye tubs and extractor.
Transports the finished dye lots to the boarding department.
Keep the dye house as clean as possible
Actively participates in department quality meetings and Lean initiatives.
Other duties and projects as assigned, including helping in other departments as needed.
