About The Position

The Project Manager/Coordinator (PM/PMC) at GEI will work within the Integrated Water Management (IWM) Group, supporting the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) on various complex water resource projects. This role involves managing and coordinating projects related to dams, spillways, levees, and other water infrastructure, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. The position requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as collaboration with a multi-disciplined team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in water resources planning and management, engineering, or construction services.
  • At least 2+ years in a project management or project coordinator role.
  • Ability to support Federal, State, and local agencies in the western United States.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects/programs effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, MS Project, and project management software.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing water resources projects in California.
  • California Registered Civil Engineer or Project Manager Professional Certification.
  • Advanced management degree.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project manager and participant coordinator for DWR services.
  • Facilitate the project process life cycle from initial request to completion.
  • Develop agendas and coordinate project team meetings.
  • Maintain project controls and project management plans.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets to meet client milestones.
  • Organize and memorialize various meetings and project documentation.
  • Complete other project-related and technical duties as assigned.
