Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County. Since the organization's inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members. Today, Shelter House is a successful and reputable organization of over 100 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence. In the last year, our compassionate team of individuals changed the lives of nearly 2,000 individuals, half of which were children. Our Culture is built from our Core Values of Inclusivity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Empowerment (iC.A.R.E.). Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of DVSH, the Senior Case Manager leads the Domestic Violence Homelessness Prevention Team in providing community-based services to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking and/or human trafficking who are looking to escape abuse. The Senior Case Manager will support a case management team that prioritizes services that focus on increasing safety, maintaining housing stability, and preventing homelessness. The Senior Case Manager will collaborate with the Assistant Director of DVSH to complete screenings, assign referrals, and support case managers in ensuring services are implemented with a trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centered approach. This position will provide services to a reduced caseload in addition to providing staff supervision.
