About The Position

The DVP of Sales and Marketing is a pivotal role within Ametek, specifically within the Paragon Medical Orthopedics business unit. This position is designed for a Business Unit Leader who will be responsible for establishing organizational goals, developing strategies, and executing plans that align with the overall business strategy. The primary objective of this role is to drive profitable growth by leveraging both technical competencies and commercial skills to identify and meet the needs of customers and prospects. The DVP will oversee all aspects of the delivery systems, surgical instrumentation, and implantable components market, which includes creating strategic sales plans, conducting sales forecasting, managing territories and headcount, performing market research and analysis, and forming strategic alliances. Additionally, the DVP will set business objectives and performance goals, develop and manage the sales force, and engage in project management activities, including international case development engineering. This role also involves the development of global initiatives and the identification of promising opportunities for business expansion. In this leadership position, the DVP will oversee OEM relationships across geographic or franchise-wide areas, assist in the development of quotes, and resolve pricing and inventory issues. The DVP will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans that align with corporate goals and achieve revenue and profit projections. This includes directing sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly, maintaining appropriate territories and headcount, and reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing strategies, and competitive positions. The DVP will utilize market research to set strategic directions for future growth and expansion, identifying opportunities for business development. Furthermore, the DVP will recommend and approve budgets and expenditures for the business development and sales teams, participate in merger and acquisition activities, and co-develop global strategic initiatives with both international and domestic partners. The role also includes attending medical meetings, presentations, and seminars, participating in conventions and professional exhibitions, and observing surgical procedures. Once the employee demonstrates competency in the position, they may be required to train others in similar roles.
