About The Position

This position is responsible for operating the Capitol Police’s electronic security system and communications network located in the Capitol Building and serving the Capitol Complex and Capital Circle Office Complex security operations for the Capitol Police on a rotating shift basis.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
• Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold a valid Florida 911PST certification.
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess public contact experience, one of which must have been in radio-teletype operations, sworn law enforcement or dispatching work.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and operating a two-way radio base station in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and FCC rules and regulations
• Maintaining location and recording the itinerary of personnel as prescribed by departmental policies and procedures
• Monitoring the radio system during surveillance and special details in operation
• Providing emergency or non-emergency assistance as situations mandate
• Notifying maintenance of repairs on radio systems as prescribed by procedures
