About The Position

Assist in the manufacture of Duraplate sheets within Wabash and ISO standards. Performing various skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of Duraplate manufacturing techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions.

Requirements

  • High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required Basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
  • General computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to read and use calipers and gauging equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Able to exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
  • Perform work at a quality level that meets or exceeds the Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Ensure that there is a Winning Together mentality to eliminate the “shift versus shift” mentality.
  • Shares information with others to help them perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently.
  • Copes successfully with unexpected events throughout the day
  • Able to work independently, as well as collectively, with other Techs, operators, maintenance, and engineers.
  • Resolves conflicting priorities and accomplishes tasks on time.
  • High standards for minimal unplanned absences (critical position to daily operational success)
  • At times, strenuous physical work is required; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling is required of material over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manufacture of Duraplate sheets by applicable Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Report defects and the need for repairs to production and maintenance leadership
  • Wear all required PPE such as shoes, gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, respirators, hearing protection, heat-shielding hoods, jackets, fall protection, etc.
  • Able to work from various heights to ensure Line is running properly.
  • Able to work in adverse climate conditions (hot, cold, dark, loud, etc.).
  • Able to work in small spaces, kneeling or bending for extended periods.
  • Required to use the following equipment (once proper training is provided): Walk Behind, Hoist, SAP program, Push/Pull systems, Harness/Fall Protection, Crane, Torque wrenches, Large and small hand tools
  • Demonstrate and embrace all the Wabash Values and Leadership Principles in daily activities.
  • Able to flex work schedule depending on the needs of the overall production team. Complete assigned duties following safety policies and practices. Demonstrate the highest regard for individual safety, the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of the equipment in the workplace.
