Under the general supervision of the Water Production Maintenance Supervisor, performs limited semi-skilled manual labor using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Requires operation of motor vehicles including a 14-yard dump truck. Works with some degree of independence but work is subject to review while in progress and upon completion. Performs other duties as required. Examples of Duties Assists in maintenance and repair of water plant related equipment, buildings, and grounds. Operates farm type tractors, 12 and 14 yard dump trucks, tractor mowers, lawn mowers, fork lift, front end loader, mini-excavator, edger, and trimmers used in maintenance of water plant and booster stations grounds. Operates and maintains sludge filter press system, using physical and mathematical abilities to perform tasks; must be stable; operates filter sludge presses' emergency power generator system. Performs janitorial duties around water plant. Assist water treatment plant mechanics in a laboring capacity. Excavates trenches. Picks up parts, equipment, and supplies.
