About The Position

Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks BC/BE, orthopaedic surgeons to join the Duke University practice. Ideal candidates will have a focused interest in care of patients with hip pathology and be fellowship trained in hip preservation or equivalent including skills in hip arthroscopy, endoscopic repairs, hip surgical dislocation, and periacetabular osteotomies. Because of the nature of this practice the candidate should be comfortable with primary hip arthroplasty. We have an active arthroplasty program, and the candidate would be expected to participate in clinical care protocols and pathways for both hip preservation and hip arthroplasty patients. The candidate should be willing to manage complications from hip preservation and/or hip arthroplasty. Candidates should also be comfortable taking trauma related call with residents. Practice will be primarily based at Duke University Hospital and/or Duke Regional Hospital. Operating platforms include the Duke University Ambulatory Surgery Center, Duke Regional Hospital (where we have an ERAS program for PAOs), as well as other Duke locations. Clinics will likely be based at Duke Arringdon Road clinic and/or at the Duke Sports Science Institute. Applicants should be committed to excellent patient care, as well as teaching, scholarship, and/or research. Interest in outcomes research in Hip preservation - arthroscopic, open, or both, is a plus.
